Having recently graduated from ASA 101, 103, 104, and 114 - I'm looking to both, contribute and also gain more experience in the Lake Erie area.
After a several-year hiatus from sailing, I have reignited my fondness for the open waters. Last year, I obtained my CA Level 1 Certification through Cruise Academy, equivalent to ASA 101 and 103, demonstrating my commitment to honing my sailing skills.
I am seeking additional opportunities to spend time on the water, eager to further my experience. I am also willing to assist with boat projects as a chance to learn and grow as a sailor.
I am extremely enthusiastic and fully prepared for new opportunities. My certification and strong desire to expand my knowledge fully support this. References are available upon request.
I have completed ASA 101,103, 104 as well as RYA competent crew assessment in May 2024. I have limited sailing experience on 40 and 70 foot boats. In great shape, a great team member and looking to learn!
I am originally from Oregon where I owned a 31 foot Hunter with roller furling in the main. I have taken lessons through Bareboat and Catamaran. I belonged to Sailtime in Saint Augustine, Florida and recenlty moved to Ohio.
Looking to crew and get more experience here. I also belng to Tradwinds Cruise Club where I go sailing in the Caribbean a few times a year.
Love the outdoors and physically fit, but have no experience on a sail boat. I'm a fast learner and willing to help out wherever needed so I'm happy to crew wherever I can be useful. Very willing to learn as much as I can from experienced sailors! Appreciate the opportunity and you won’t be disappointed…I'm ready to sail!
I sail for the Ohio State Sailing team and have a year of experience sailing 420's, looking to break into sailing on larger boats and am eager to learn!
I've completed ASA 101, 103, and 104. Looking to gain more experience.
I've been grinding my way through ASA 101, 103, and 104. I've watched the YouTube video's and drank the kool-aid. I'm a 40-something hoping to retire in the Caribbean. Any and all experience is a blessing.
I've not raced before but I have some sailling experience - in my youth on a 27' O'Day in the Sandusky area and many trips bareboating in the BVI on both monohulls and cats. Looking for ways to get out on the water and am very willing to learn.
Ertired FBI agent now corporate pilot. No racing experience. Willing to jump in and learn. Have sailed with friends in the BVI- which left me wanting to learn more
Born and raised sailing in Southern California with my father, primarily out of Santa Barbara Harbor and Mission Bay. Crew rated member of the University of Iowa Sailing Club in Iowa City, Iowa. Spent the past two summers as a Sailing Instructor at a summer camp on Echo Lake in the beautiful state of Maine. Just relocated to Cleveland as a summer extern at the Clinic's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute!
Bucket list for my summer in Ohio is to see Cleveland from the water (ideally on a sailboat, of course)!
I'm a kitesurfer, with little experience in sailing. I had introductory sailing lessons on a laser in 2019. Apart from that, I sailed a Hobbie cat in Cancún when in vacations in 2021. I'm mostly available on weekends and nights.
Looking forward to join a team, meeting great people and winning some races.
Worked as foredeck on a Tartan 10 for 3 years. Prior to that worked the main on a Cal 33. Most of the experience was through NCWSA though I have participated in some club racing and regattas. I have occasionally worked other positions. Looking for more time on the water and fun overall!
3rd generation sailor. Raced and casually sailed lasers and sunfish growing up. Ex college athlete with drive to win. Willing to learn and pay my dues to excel.
Raced dinghies in Vermilion from a young age and sailed in college on big boats; T10, J24, C&C, Hobie 33 and others. Just moved to Cleveland and looking to find a boat looking for weeknight racing crew either at Edgewater or CYC. Thanks!
I have been sailing before and raced a few times last summer. Looking to join a boat and meet some great people!
I used to sail in San Diego and Seattle. I raced in beer can races in Seattle in J24s. It has been awhile since I raced or sailed and would like to get back into it.
I owned a motor boat for 15 years and absolutely love the Great Lakes. My boat was put to rest in 2022 and I'd enjoy ramping up my sailing skills and participating in races.
I have been out of the sport for a while and want to get back in to sailing. I have raced in the past, but it has been a quite a while since I have been racing. So I would consider to be just above a beginner.
I'm new to Cleveland from Houston. I was an avid kayaker in Texas, but have no experience on a sail boat. I'm a fast learner and a very fun and positive person to be around! We've just moved next to the marina and I'm ready to sail.
Raced a few seasons in Vancouver BC 2010-11 (foredeck, rail meat, trimming).
Bought a Catalina 27 and cruised extensively in coastal British Columbia 2011-14
Sailed a Tartan 40 from mentor to the Bahamas and back (5,000 miles round trip) in 2014-15.
Occasional day sailing since then. Would love to find a boat to crew on this season and get back on the water more regularly and brush up on my racing chops. I'm late 30's, decent shape
1998-2009 raced as crew primarily T-10 and V-15 fleets in Chicago, all positions. Did a dozen Mac races, including after I moved to Oregon. Am moving to the Cleveland area and would love to get back out on the water! Rusty, but If you yell "bang the vang" I will :)
Hello. I'm 25, grew up sailing with my dad on 19ft Oday. Have experience on large and small vessels and really want to get back on the water. Crew postitions on any boat would be much appreciated. Feel free to email or text. Thanks!
I just completed ASA 101/103. I have crewed in the past, but it's been a while. My hobby is following directions, so I'm happy to crew wherever I can be useful.
Hello, I recently moved back to the area after learning to sail in the Puget Sound. I am looking to get back out on the water and would appreciate any opportunity to crew on a vessel.
I grew up on a SeaRay power boat and learned to sail in the Pacific Northwest. I have also bareboat captained a 44 foot monohaul in the BVI.
Please feel free to email me with questions. Thanks!

I am 22 years old coming out of college -- have experience sailing a sunfish (which I have thouroughly enjoyed) and have researched joining a crew for bigger boats. I am physically fit and looking to learn more and help out! Please call, text or email me. I am very flexible
I am looking to join a crew. I have sailing experience.
I have previous sailing experience. I am looking to crew a boat and race. Thanks!
Absolute beginner. I am learning about sailing and want to help out and learn where needed. I don't know much but I'm a quick hands on learner.
I have crewed a few times with my father-in-law on his Interlake on Portage Lakes. Myself and my wife (both late 20's) would be interested in helping crew a boat on Lake Erie.
I don't have experience boating, but I want to learn and compete. I'm a single, adventurous, physically fit, 37 yr old former active duty Marine looking for a new adventure. I was introduced to boating by an ex girlfriend who owned a power boat and was a member of chagrin lagoons, but my attention was drawn to the sailboats there. I'd appreciate you giving me a chance, I won't disappoint!
mostly on foredeck and gib
SEEKING MORE COMPETITIVE RACING
6 years teaching small boat sailing summer camps. US Sailing level 1 certified. Some regatta experience in TN.
I'm an experienced International and Flying Scot sailor but it has been a decade since I've raced regularly. I am a degreed Naval Architect and Marine Engineer but left the field to focus on entrepreneursial activities. Interested in learning to sail larger boats on Lake Erie. Would love to crew in any capacity.
I've been sailing a little over 8 years. Learned the basics from books and an online sailing course. Taught myself in a McGregor venture 17 . Retractable keel. 4 seasons sailing it. Last 4 years I've had a Catalina Capri 18 , fixed wing keel . I have a lot of hours sailing , nearly every weekend or day off in the summers for 8 yrs. Been caught in some rough weather. First 4yrs I went out (inside the break wall ) in every storm I could in an attempt to gain skill faster . I say the first 4 yrs because the McGregor is said to " unsinkable " . Purchasing a c&c redline 33 next mo . I love sailing. It's going to be a big part of my future. I would love the opportunity to learn more with veteran sailors. Racing sailboats sounds very exciting. I imagine the experience gained is unmeasurable. Willing to help crew on any SV.
I did sailing camp as a kid and helped out on a family sailboat growing up, but I am mostly a novice. I am eager to learn, an attentive listener, and typically a quick study. I'll bring a cheerful attitude and sense of humor to the learning process.
I have mostly sailed hobie cats and dinghies. Looking forward to learn more.
I have taught sailing classes on sunfish boats for three years, and have limited experience sailing my family's 16' hobie cat. I was on the club sailing team for my last semester of college and skippered FJ boats, but didn't get a chance to race. I have basic sailing knowledge but would love to get out on the water, learn, and help out!
I am looking to gain experience sailing- I have no physical experience, just what I have read. Really looking to help as much as I can and learn as much as I can from experienced sailors!
My wife and I are both in our 50's and own a 32' C&C down in Louisiana on Lake Ponchatrain.
I've sailed on a previous boat we owned here in Ohio. Sailed to Kelley's Island and back a few times and around the Cleveland lake front mostly. we are mostly looking to gain experience with a crew that enjoys teaching others the joy of sailing.
We are both interested in crewing for someone. We are NOT expert sailors by any means. we don't even have to learn/crew on the same boat.
'if anyone is interested please let us know. Kevin and Jo Ann Haig. 216-214-7155
I have a few years of experience (3 summers) working the foredeck of an Evelyn 32 out of Waukegan Yatch Club (IL). I also have experience sailing on a J130 out of the Chicago Corinthian Yatch Club. The majority of the races were beer can race series and the Waukegan to Chicgao Race.
I moved to Cleveland in Feb 2020, I'm looking to get back out on the water so I'm looking for a boat to crew.
I wont bring the beer or be hopsing
