Let me extend my sincerest congrats to Larry Gardner of Kicks who placed first in Jam. Larry is a great guy and so are his cronies from Eastlake.
As a first year boat owner I am learning stuff all over again. Some basic things like getting to the start line on time, not having a stop knot at the end of the topping lift so it becomes hosed, and lastly, trying to maintain some perspective when you think you did poorly. I had 18 hours of deep depression until I saw that we did place. Blamed it all on myself and said things to a supportive crew that I had to later try and explain.
Great winds and following seas made the sail fast and fun, (in retrospect). The next day, Sunday, the sail back to EWYC was just as enjoyable only in real time, and that made the entire effort worth it. I've banked this one. |
